Oops, no it isn’t.  Sorry bout that.  Though I’m sure everyone who’s seen it has paused on that scene.

Siltem, Mr Vampire 2?

Not part 2 either.

guitarbrother - November 2, 2009, 2:09pm

Could it be Spooky Encounters?  I believe there are 2 coffins in that gem.

Almost wink

Time for a new overview!

A short intro to this quiz for new readers: it’s basically a “guess-which-film-this-is” sort of thing.
We play with three movies at the same time. Once you have correctly guessed which movie a screenshot is from you earn the right to post a new screenshot yourself. Full rules can be found in the first post. The list of which films have already been used can be found in the second, third and fourth post. You’re allowed to re-use films though, so don’t worry if your favorite already received a turn some time ago.

You can participate even if you’re not interested in posting screenshots (or don’t know how to).
In that case just yell FREE-FOR-ALL when you’ve won and that means someone else can (and will!) take your place.

These are currently the three movies in play:

Movie #1:  Siltem guessed “Dead or Alive: Hanzaisha: correctly and has posted two screenhots for his new film, which is not “Mr. Vampire”, “Mr. Vampire 2” or “Spooky Encounters”.

Movie #2:  Guitarbrother guessed “Timecrimes” (indeed a local favorite here at Twitch) and posted one shot for a new mystery movie. I kindly erased the pause mark and while doing so noticed some sort of monster lurking in the background. Brrrrrr…

Movie #3:  Kurt guessed “24 Hour Party People” correctly but took more than three days to post a new shot. Therefore we have ourselves a FREE-FOR-ALL!!!
Yes, anyone can take over movie #3 without having to get a correct guess in. First come first get, so be quick!

Nope, not Horror Express.  Is that good?  I’m always up for seeing a new horror film.  And thanks for getting rid of that blasted pause mark.

You’re welcome.
And I don’t know too much about “Horror Express” except that it’s generally liked during Halloween. It has Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas, and it’s a riff on “Murder on the Orient Express” except the murderer is a dethawed prehistoric apeman which can cause burnmarks with his eyes. “Frigging lasers…”.
So expect a lot of cheese. cheese

Second guess: “Peeping Tom”?

I think I may have actually seen Horror Express when I was a kid.  The plot description is definitely ringing bells.
Peeping Tom is wrong, so here’s another still.

Here’s the third still and a reminder that I cheated a bit (it’s a television program one off rather than a movie, but oh what a TV special it was)

“Ghostwatch?”
I never saw it but heard lots of great stories about it.
People who tuned in late thought they were seeing the real thing, almost resulting in a hysteria reminiscent of Orson Welles’ radio version of “War of the Worlds”.

Visitor, does it seem aged to you?
It aired 17 years ago (prior to things like common access to the internet, mobile telephony and “The Blair Witch Project”), and people are now far more media-savvy than in the early nineties.

am into Parts 2 and 3 now. no, it’s not aged badly at all. (YouTube loads really slow in these parts.)
